A tap of relief

The ruby red fluid is not blood this time, but my chemotherapy drug epirubicin. My second treatment together with cyclophosphamide.

I feel great after the blood transfusion and hopefully will remain so.

Tim, my nurse of the day told me that these drugs act by destroying any fast dividing cells. Normally the white cells are attacked as well, reducing immune response. In my case my white count remained normal and my red blood cells were attacked. Good news on general immunity but obviously not great for haemoglobin levels.

Every day a learning day!
