All the women

In memory of all the women,
Murdered by those who said they loved them.

I found this bench in the central park in Almeria this morning. I find it a  moving and poignant statement about domestic violence.

Almeria is a vibrabt buzzing port city with a wonderful historical centre.  One of the highlights was visiting the Guitar Museum Antonio de Torres (1st extra). Torres was born in the early 19th century and was one of the most important guitar makers internationally, the creator par excellence of the spanish guitar as we know it.  M the guitarist loved it and was in his element.

The second extra shows the beautiful clock and bells of the cathedral in Almeria. Completed in 1564, today it represents an amalgamation of architectural styles from the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries. You can also see what a stunning day is has been with fabulous blue skies.

And in the third extra, a man waiting for the social services office to open in the beautifully cobbled main square outside the town hall.  Almeria is a migrant hub, full of seasonal workers servicing the large fruit and vegetable production of the region.
