Davis homeplace

This 105 year old house has become the talk of social media around here. This was a stand of trees a few weeks ago. No one expected this gem to be revealed once the trees were cleared. A family member says the owner passed away in 1972 and the house has been empty ever since. It sits on 30.5 acers. Mr. Davis's father owned this property and much more. Giving his son this parcel.  Him and his brothers built this house in 1917. The owner was a Justice of the Peace from 1916 to 1969. He preformed weddings and handled arrest warrants with the Sheriff as a Trial Magistrate. He was also a Notary, tobacco farmer, painter, wallpaper hanger, sold animal skins, vegetables and Christmas greens. His wife was born in DC and was a telephone operator at age 17. Hard working county folks. He played local baseball around 1905. Him and wife were married until she passed away at age 77. The property has been sold several times. Not sure what is planned for it but it will never be good enough to replace the days left behind.
