This morning, after all the recent bad weather, it was good to be out on a bike ride. Impossibly, the wind seemed to be against, regardless of the direction of travel.
There were a few curlews, oystercatchers and redshanks along the river, plus a large flock of lapwings (apparently called a 'deceit'.) I  like their wispy crests. (Image heavily cropped.)
As with many others, number are on the decline, and globally they're listed as near threatened.
As another week disappears into the rear view mirror of memory,  the headlights of anticipation pick out the oncoming weekend of a creative writing course. I've already booked my re-sit test.
