Life's a Beech

This little Beech sapling took my eye as I walked by the river to see the effects of flooding last night and again this morning. Both events happened at high tide in the nearby estuary which acts as a form of buffer causing the river to back up.Once the tide turns and starts to ebb the pressure gradually releases. Quite a lot of damage has been done to the footpath in recent days caused by the scouring action of the river, and a lot of debris has been deposited.
