The Embrace

We went to the Boston Common today to see the new Martin Luther King Jr. Bronze Sculpture. It took our breath away, honestly. The weather was nasty, a cold rain, but the look of awe from the onlookers would lift any spirit. All ages and colors of humanity gathered around and under the statue engaged and mirroring all sorts of feeling. A powerful tribute to the force of love and the difference it can make in the world.

“The Embrace,” the towering bronze memorial honoring Martin "Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King, was unveiled to the public on Friday, the culmination of years of work by Embrace Boston, a racial and economic justice activist group. The celebration of the sculpture, which depicts the hands and arms of the couple in an embrace, featured speakers including Gov. Maura Healey, Boston Mayor Michelle Wu, and Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley. "Boston.com
