Snowshoeing and Pizza baking

While the children slept, and Isaac was the parent-in-charge, Eleanor and I went out on snowshoes. Up the hill to the flagpole, on to the top of the hill, and then down the far side where there is this rather lovely view.
Another home day, with the usual sledging in the garden and snow building. Florence is now much more at home in the snow and enjoying her time outside much more enthusiastically. It takes some getting used to when you are only 3 years-old and have never seen snow like this.
I'm impressed by the parents too, who set off for the flagpole yesterday, their first time on snowshoes, as it started to get dark. As I set them up I forgot that we use poles, so they achieved their trip without those balancing aides. Good going!
There has been a lot of snow this winter, as this picture of the veranda behind Betty's shows.
Pizza baking? That my (back)blip for yesterday, posted at the same time as this one.
