Mono Monday

We we’re not best pleased that a large TUI cruise ship arrived early morning. That would mean lots of tourists milling around and being taken on trips by taxis. We had decided to walk up to Fort Hamilton, an easy walk and low and behold I smelt baking bread coming from a real bakery. We enquired about the wheat loaf but they were still being baked so we called in on our return. The exact same loaf we had paid EC 20 dollars was a mere EC 4.50 dollars. What a rip off we had paid the other day although half of that loaf is still in the freezer. The fort is the site of a battery built in the late 1700s by the British to protect Admiralty Bay from attack by American privateers and French raiders.
In the afternoon we took our snorkel set to the beach to try out as we haven’t used a snorkel for many years and we are going out on a day sailing trip on Wednesday. I spotted this spiny urchin and as it appears to be in theme, light and dark, it’s my entry today for MM. We dined at the hotel, the grounds of which we overlook. The extra is one of the views from the fort, looking back from where other photos have been taken.
