WINTER PARAKEET

I went to the funeral of a former choir colleague this morning. His partner had chosen plenty of singable songs and I think we made a good noise for him. Afterwards I went for a walk in the Park, but not for long as my going-to-funerals coat and shoes aren't nearly as warm as my usual thick-but-scruffy parka and boots. Although the frost had all but gone where I live by the time I went out, everywhere else in Hartlepool still seemed to be frozen hard, but the parakeets in the Park were busy anyway choosing nest holes and being squawky and exotic. Some lovely frosted heather and a dead leaf in the extra, catching the sun at midday.
