Conserving energy

The kestrel that patrols this stretch of the Relief Channel had obviously had enough of flapping her wings all day. She'd taken to flying from perch to perch using them as lookout posts for prey. The one she's on here is usually used by the cormorants to survey the waters rather than the bank.
A beautiful day. I saw my first fox of the year and my first hare of the year (both in extras). It really felt like 2023 had started today. There will be plenty more dreary grey days I'm sure, but today was one to cherish.
