Lichen Love

There’s something about lichen that fascinates me. The colors don’t intrigue me as much as the textures and shapes. There can be many shapes on a single piece of wood and all the shapes feel different.

Lichen tell us a lot about the health of the our natural areas—they tell us if the air we’re breathing is clean or not. I’m grateful for the abundance of lichen, mushrooms and mosses around me. I feel l like the air must be pretty clean where I live.
