Dugout

A handsome Native American man has been making beautiful dugout canoes like this one - which I have seen him paddling - his long dark hair blowing back in the wind, held off his forehead by a scarf. Quiet romantic and nostalgic both!

Addition - these are carved with a handheld adz from cedar, a smaller version of the one I showed you on May 4th of this year. And if you make this really big on the screen you can see the hand made marks in the wood. The northwest coast native people are famous for these boats that they took across out in the ocean for fishing and transport.
