?? (xiâo q?) means little enclosed neighbourhood. a number of houses, sometimes ranging from semi-detached houses to high rise blocks, is walled around, with 24 hour gate keepers. Between the blocks there is always a garden, with water. Frogs living in this pond lull me to sleep every night with their monotonous roar.
