Oyster Mushrooms

Managed to get out for a walk and survive the icy patches.

Rewarded with these Oyster Mushrooms  ( Pleurotus ostreatus ). These are a fairly common edible Mushroom. Indeed they are grown commercially in some parts of the world.

Two things are of interest. First they can clearly survive the ice and snow.
Secondly they are one of the few carniverous fungi. They are able to ingest any Nematodes which are unfortunate enough to land on them.
I admit that the latter fact makes me less enthusiastic about eating them.
