Still reeling

Need a laptop with an hdmi port for a meeting next week. My MacBook Air and the Windows that R has don’t have one. I remembered I have my ex work laptop ( which I purchased when I retired) but b****** me if I can recall the password last used 3.5 years ago. YouTube tells me I can get in so I’m trying a hack !
So annoying but I should have written it down.
