Here we go again!

Institut du monde arabe

This afternoon we visited the Institut du monde arabe, drawn in for the "Sur les routes de Samarcande" exhibition. T is very adept at textile arts and noticed all sorts of things I would have missed in the extremely impressive embroidery we saw - small asymmetries, changes in thread and dye lots, and unusual techniques. It was great to visit it with her! We also saw the "Habibi, les révolutions de l'amour" exhibition featuring work that interrogates LGBTQIA+ identities. There were some interesting pieces there too, like the embroidery in the extra of the Arabic subtitling of Rupal's Drag Race by Sido Lansari (2016).

We picked up some things for dinner at "Les Délices d'Orient" and "Guillaume d'Auteuil" and worked and knitted in between.
