Haigh Hall

These large gates and gatehouses are one of the major entrances leading from Wigan Lane, the main A49 Roman Road, into the Plantations, and onwards to Haigh Hall 3 miles away.
Today they were brightened by a light dusting of crispy snow, while across the road, striking nurses were chanting, singing and eliciting honking motorists’ support.
