Red Squirrel tracks

This was the first day of our current spell of snow. It wasn't really deep, but it kept lightly snowing on and off all day, and as we found out the following day, a lot more was to come (with added inconvenience)!

I was interested to see these tiny animal tracks on my walk in Upper Reelig Wood. Not something I'd ever noticed in snow before. A little online investigation afterwards confirmed who they belong to.

Some interesting info on red squirrel tracks here - including the fact that their hind feet are the ones that go in front, because of the way squirrels 'bound': https://scottishsquirrels.org.uk/2015/02/10/making-tracks/

A couple of extras included to show what it looked like out and about.
