I had been lured to Manchester under false pretences. I had been promised a day of fun and games with the Grandson but it soon materialized that the fun was going to be at a well known shopping centre on the outskirts of the city.
What has a man to do but to head for the hills. Despite many trips into the Peak District I realized that I had never been up the Derwent Valley famous for it's reservoirs used as a training for the "Dambuster" raid.
A great day out despite the rain, which you might be able to make out on the shot. 3 minutes after this it was hailstone but the camera stayed in the pocket.
