Anna's Hummingbird

I saw a hummingbird with a white patch on its right wing.
One of our favorite regular visitors that has not visited in several days has a similar unusual white patch on one of her wings.
We are worried about her absence and have been on the lookout for her.
This one is a male however.
Maybe he is one of her offspring?
