Great Horned Owl

Not technical a good shot at all, but I saw the Great Horned Owl and that was fun.  This morning we went into Portland to pick up my ball head that had been repaired.  The drive in was a heavy rain snow mix and so cold.  I did want to try out the ball head so I went to the refuge when the rain let up a little.  Still pretty dark, this owl was way up in the tree so I was leaning out the car window and shooting almost straight up.  There were so many cars coming into the refuge I have never seen anything like it.  Apparently in the late afternoon a short eared owl has been spotted there and the cars were lining up to hopefully see it.  Sitting in a line of cars is not my idea of fun so I left.
