Gateway to the West?

We went for a late afternoon walk and passed the end of the mighty Clifton Suspension Bridge and realised it faces almost due west!

Even at this time of day and a chill in the air, it was covered in tourists and the eating houses and cafes of Clifton were well frequented!

I bet Brunel didn’t build it as an all year round tourist attraction!
