Xmas 2023

Planting of Xmas trees for 2023 is well underway. A couple of folk sit behind a huge tractor fed young trees into a machine which planted them. A man with the spade walked behind and tidied up - planting into any gaps which had been missed.

I caught them as they were starting up another row. The spade man engaged me in conversation. He made some observations about the weather (it was raining at the time), extolled the virtues of the machine and outlined his particular role in the venture. His account was liberally spiced with agricultural expletives. Somehow it seemed appropriate.

Trees should be ready for Xmas 2023.
