Malfunction

Did our favourite bird walk today from Hackney Marshes to Teigngrace and back. At the start we can always rely on seeing a kingfisher in different places though usually it is at a distance or in flight. Today we looked over this bridge and there it was,  perched just ten feet away on a flimsy reed on the right. I didn’t have my camera ( laptop malfunction) and my phone failed on me ( battery malfunction) Disappointed.
Later it worked fine. We had a good day though and it warmed up a bit. Bird of the day was a plethora - that’s a lot - 36 different species, but individually  it was shared between redwings and goosanders.
