Frosted

The temperature has remained stubbornly low, rarely getting above freezing, even during the day. The frost accentuates the distinctive shape of the mahonia leaves. It was so cold that my perky snowdrops were lying collapsed, flat on the ground.
Indoors we were clearing the decks of our best room in preparation for a new carpet being laid tomorrow. We have chosen a light coloured carpet similar to the one it is replacing. It is a dark room, so it needs a light coloured carpet.
