‘First Outing’

New running shoes my daughter gave me for my birthday last week. They are ASICS Gel Kayano 29’s and are the same basic model that I've had, in different iterations, for well over ten years now. I'd done around 800 kilometres in my latest pair, and it was time for a change.

They are what are called stability shoes, and provide lots of cushioning and support, just the thing for an elderly, injury prone, plodder like me. 

I'd been wearing them a bit around the house to get used to them and this morning they had their first outing. 

The verdict after 5k - excellent and a huge improvement on their predecessor!
