High tide

From time to time, (I've seen it twice) the tide comes in across the marshes at Parkgate, bringing rodents scurrying from death by drowning, birds of prey hovering above to pick off the rodents and hundreds of birders and photographers to catch the aforementioned.
Today should have been a high tide. Only the photographers and birders turned up.
Very dull day, quite chilly, but most importantly, no strong westerly wind to bring the tide in.
So no stunning shots of birds in flight with shrews hanging from beaks, but several lovely conversations with Pat, an old work colleague, Diane2104, fellow blipper, and John and Margaret from a local camera club, who shared the same 30 metres of space as we waited and watched in vain.
Hundreds of disappointed birders and photographers.
