Every Picture Tells .....

It was driving me nuts

TUESDAY

I awoke at 7:00 am to the sound of chirping from the smoke alarm on the landing. It was audible throughout the house.

Although the device is hard wired to the mains, a Google search revealed that it contained a 9 volt PP3 battery which provides back-up during power cuts and that the failure of this battery was the likely cause of the chirping. Fortunately, I had a replacement battery in the house, although turning off the power, fetching in the stepladders from the garage and removing the smoke alarm cover was a bit of a faff.

I managed a 6 km run this morning and also sorted out a joiner to remove some wardrobes at the house in Wales and arranged some appointments with the GP, the hospital and the podiatrist.
