Hitchcock

I felt like I was in a scene from "The Birds" today.

Initially as I made my way round the site taking measurements I thought how friendly this pheasant was, just walking at my feet. Then I felt a a nip in the back of my leg and again then he whooshed past the side of my head. The wing was so close to my ear it sounded like thunder. I left that part of the site and returned an hour later and he was waiting for me and resumed with the behaviour.
I can only assume he was guarding something but I would have thought this was a bit early for eggs.
Not a pleasant pheasant or whatever the saying is.
The site was on the north side of Loch Rannoch.
