Semlor and films

Jan baked the buns a while back and froze them. Now thawed out, the insides are removed and mixed with crumbled marzipan and lots of milk. The mix is left for a bit so the milk can be absorbed. Cream is whipped. The mix goes back into the buns, is topped with cream, and the "lid" replaced. A final sprinkling of icing sugar and they are ready to eat.
These were taken to Rose's as dessert, ands eaten before we went of to the first film of this season's film-studio.
This was the French film "Breathless" (Original title - À bout de souffle).  It was Jean-Luc Goddard's first full-length film and was Jean-Paul Belmondo's first international success. I enjoyed the film but didn't realise just how influential it was until I came home and looked it up on Wikipedia, and read a Roger Ebert review.
Interestingly the character I found most interesting was played beautifully by Jean Seberg, which was a new name to me, but who was the "established" star when the film was made.

Tomorrow the mountains!
