Turning the clock back

Pilates was cancelled due to illness. So we spent the morning preparing for the installation of a new boiler. We had cleared an area around the hot water tank a couple of weeks ago. Today it was the cellar that needed to be organised.

The problem with having a cellar and attic is that over the years they have been used to store redundant items. Just in case they may be needed! Of course they have never seen the light of day again. We came across a number of items that necessitated two trips to the tip.

Over twenty years ago Richard cleared his parents house. He popped most of the items down in the cellar to sort through. He never has so today we came across this classic portable typewriter. Surprisingly still in working order although it could do with a new ribbon. It seemed a shame to ditch it so it has received a reprieve.

At least there is access to the pipes and gas meter but a lot more sorting out is required.
