I went looking for a gray crowned rosy finch today, a mega rare bird for Nova Scotia. After standing around for 2 hours, it was still a no show. The home owner said she heard its call this morning. There were lots of chickadees, sparrows and juncos at the feeders plus a few blue jays. The mallards also came up from a nearby pond to get fed,
I usually visit this area in the summer, there is a nice beach across the road from where the rosy finch has been seen. There were still some nice waves after the storm yesterday.
On the way home i stopped at a couple of other places to get some photos to use in the weekly challenge groups on FB.
A nice sunny day today and more sun in the forecast for tomorrow. The ice sculpture festival is on tomorrow afternoon, so I plan to go to that.
