experimenting with macro shots - this time the subject matter is a rather large piece of rose quartz... interesting colours, not uniform due to the irregular distribution of minerals within the quartz, that's the wonder of nature for you...

rose quartz found in several locations worldwide - this particular piece is from Brazil - the depth of colour varies from location to location too... and rather than forming as points as quartz and amethyst do, rose quartz tends to be found as a 'mass' - then broken up into chunks... this chunk is approx 7" height, depth and width - rose quartz boulder I suppose! wouldn't want to drop it on my toes thats for sure!
