Burns Supper - the real thing.

After the warm up at Rotary 2 days ago tonight’s Burns Supper was the full event - Mrs AMK was a bit like Tam O’ Shanter’s wife when I phoned her at 12.20 am for a lift home ! 

The blip shows the Piper, Poosie Nancy and the man who recited the Address to the Haggis downing their whisky from the traditional quaich.

Our Burns club , number 62, has been on the go since 1884 although we have missed the last 2 years due to Covid and normally hosts around 300 men in the town’s Corn Exchange. 

The man wearing all the regalia in the extra is none less than the President of the Robert Burns World Federation and has entertained all round the world with his tremendous singing voice and he also performed a hilarious Toast to the Lassies ! 

Every year we are fortunate to have some of the best Burns performers in Scotland and sometimes further afield visiting us and the man in the centre who addressed the haggis , a past President of our club , was a previous World Federation President . It helps to have good contacts !
