Puzzling

I've been living in the Northern Rivers area for 3 years and still have a lot to learn about local plants. I photographed this attractive yellow pea flower in bushland nearby. When I tried to identify it, I was first led to a NZ plant called Kowhai. I felt that couldn't be right, and eventually decided on Brush Sophora. This area is at the southern limit of its range. It is said to be rare around here, less so further north but still uncommon. The NZ Kowhai is a different species of Sophora.
