What Do I See

Impressive Stadia

Oliver and I headed down to London today. At Christmas I was gifted a tour of the Tottenham Hotspur Football Club stadium, the newest, and largest club stadium in London, and the second largest club stadium in the UK. Probably the most expensive in the UK at £1.2 billion to build. You can see how they got to that figure too, a lot of detail built into a building that is more than just a football stadium. A pitch on top of a pitch (so NFL can play they take out the football pitch and the NFL pitch is underneath. The biggest screens in Europe in the stadium, the longest single continuous bar. Very impressive player facilities. Stadium acoustics developed by U2's sound engineers to keep the atmosphere in the stadium and reduce noise polution to the neighbours.

We also went on their skywalk, which sees you walk around the club emblem, a cockrel on a ball which is above the pitch, you can just see the people above and to the let of Oliver in the picture. Oliver wasn't so keen on that bit, but it was quite the view over London.

As we were so close, the final bit of the trip was trip 'back home' to pop by my Dad's grave to look in on him. As a Tottenham supporter, and a quantity surveyor I have no doubt we would all have been to a game at the new stadium if he was still with us.
