It's gone . . .

I didn't take any photos yesterday (1/28/22) so instead, I thought I would upload a back blip from December 15, 2022, of a memorable experience.

When hurricane Ian hit Florida at the end of Sept, a huge limb broke off one of our large oak trees. It was still hanging onto the tree, but most of it was on our front lawn! Because so many trees were damaged by the storm, it took 2-1/2 months for Terry's Trees to get to us. Our front yard was quite a sight,  but we did not want anyone else to do the job as the crew at Terry's are arborists. We had them to take the entire tree down because 2 years ago another large limb was struck by lightning, broke off and fell into the street! Poor tree. I added a photo of this tree before they cut it down as well as when it was cut down and gone, in the extra photos.

Can you believe it only took the crew about 2 hours or so to cut this large tree down? I sat on the front porch and watched them for almost the whole time, taking photos. Terry's has trimmed some of our trees before and I always find the process fascinating. This time they only used the bucket lift you see here, but other times they have put on safety ropes and climbed up the taller trees like monkeys!!

Check out the extra photos to see how they gathered the fallen limbs and what our front yard looked like after the oak was gone! The tree stump is to the right, in front of a bush. The positive aspect of all of this is now, the front yard will not be in the shade so much. The plants and flowers there will receive some much needed sun. :O)
