Woody the Golden Eagle...

It's been a lovely day, bright sunshine and quite warm... We went off to Cambridge on various errands, stopped at Scotsdale's Garden Centre for a coffee and scone and then on for a flying visit to Tom to see how his house decoration is getting on.

A quick trip to Tesco to get a couple of things that Sainsbury's seemed to have stopped stocking ( Coffee Mate, can you believe).

On the way home between Balsham and Hildersham we came across this chap with his Golden Eagle Woody. He was flying the bird at hares that are numerous just there, we saw 15 of them from the car.

It is quite legal to hunt hares with an eagle (provided the land owner has given permission), but I'm not that comfortable with blood sports of any kind. This chap was quite open and was happy to let me photograph him and the bird so I guess he was allowed to be there doing his thing.

Woody is 10 years old and a beautiful bird, sadly we didn't get to see it flying...
