Another first …..

….. and this time it’s a beautiful Kingfisher.

The hide in the Heritage Park has reopened so today I had my first visit. I was not alone and the first thing I noticed were the huge lenses at the open windows. I only have a pocket sized camera which has served me well for many years.

The gents in the hide were there looking out for the Kingfisher and for at least three quarters of an hour there was no sign of it. Plenty of birdie chat and then John, on my left, spotted the splash of orange. Needless to say I found it hard to see but as it came a bit nearer even I couldn’t miss it.

The image is not pin point sharp but I will certainly return very soon and hope to get a clearer shot.
