Eglwyseg from Cyrn-y-Brain

A need for a bit of hill action led us to one of our favourite lumps of rock that is perfect when we only want a short blast of a walk. Parking at the famous Ponderosa car park you head up a maintenance track that leads to a couple of communication masts at about 565m. You can be up at the summit having had a good work out in about 30 minutes if you fancy. It rarely happens though as the views are too good stretching all the way from the Peak District through South Shropshire and over to the Snowdonia and its mountains.

Today though it was an other worldly experience as low cloud turned up as we left the car and suddenly halfway up the visibility dropped massively. As shown in an extra This remained the case whilst we wandered along the spine of the hill therefore when we popped back out into the sunshine it was even more of a treat.
