Pool (Bog) Party

Especially at this time of the year, our bog is very popular with the birds. The year-round regulars enjoy bathing in the gently flowing water and migrating birds really seem to appreciate it. Even birds like the American Robins who apparently have just gotten into town and aren't really interested in the buffet we offer at our feeders...Love the bog! A large flock of them spent the entire morning splishing and splashing around in the shallow water. We even spotted a Cedar Waxwing 'partying' with the Robins. Unusual because we only occasionally see Waxwings here and very seldom are they solitary, usually traveling in 'talkative' groups. Robins and Waxwings are both hunting for berries at this time of the year and that might be a reason for them keeping company. Check the *extra for more fun shots of the fun.
