A Day on Exmoor

After a reasonably early start we drove over to Exmoor where we picnicked under Dunkery looking out across the Channel .

We sampled the new Pieces of Eight cafe at Porlock Weir and had a coffee in the glass annex, looking out over the harbour where I remember there was a small cafe in the 1970s .

We parked at Bossington and walked our favourite circular around the Combe . The sounds of the wind in the trees and the waves breaking on the beach were wonderful. I can never understand why walkers would choose to wear headphones.
It would have been my friend Jean’s 80 something birthday today so we called in on my dear friend Jeff, her widower. He was just walking up from Porlock village as we were parking . It was our first proper catch up with him this year .

We didn’t arrive home till after 7:0 pm, just in time for another episode of Traitors -Australia!!
