Plein 1813

Plein 1813 is an oval shaped roundabout in the centre of the Hague. It has an monument in the middle as memory to the victory over Napoleon and the independence of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in 1813.

This spot used to be at the end of the city limits in 1813 and people could see the Prins of Orange arrive back on Dutch soil on Nov 30 of that year.

For those who are good in math, thats exactly 400 years ago this year the we have a monarchy, which we will celebrate on Nov 30 this year!
