Barbara

...feeds the birds on Clapham Common.
She started doing it when her mother died.
And then when her husband passed away, the birds helped her to cope with life.
She sometimes gives the crows some cat food. She opens a tin and throws it to them and they busy themselves figuring out how to get the cat food out.
The pigeons recognise her as she strolls into the park with her bread bag. They appear from all over.
The geese get greedy she says.
But they are the lucky ones.
Barbara says some Portuguese visitors recently raided the pond and took some bream and young geese to eat.
