The view from Flanders

Nefertite galore

In 1922 Tutankhamun's tomb was discovered. A hundred years later museums are organizing exhibitions celebrating the event. One such exhibition can be viewed at the Royal Museum of Mariemont: Egypt. Everlasting Passion. The exhibition explores the fascination of ancient Egypt in the Western imagination. Visitors will not only find Egyptian antiquities, but artworks (or kitsch) from various periods that reflect the fantasies generated by the land of the Pharaohs. On view until 16/04/2023.
