Hilltop trees

I spent a while with the macro lens, making lots of attempts to photograph the very tiny bright pink female flowers which have emerged beside the male catkins on the hazel twigs. I was paying careful attention to focusing and depth of field; unfortunately, I failed to notice the exposure compensation setting, used a white cloth as background, and found all my photos were too underexposed to rescue.

I walked up the hill towards four o'clock. The clouds were wonderful and the varied winter shapes of the trees were beautifully clear against the sky.
