The Victoria and Albert Museum

I had a dental appointment in South Kensington, so naturally I went to the V&A afterwards! I wanted to see the dress worn by Ginger Rogers in lady in the dark in 1944, apparently the most expensive movie costume ever made, in today’s money about £500,000. Next to that is Fred Astaire‘s costume from the 30s in Shall we dance.

Platform shoe top Tina Turner 1994, satin shoe in the middle Prince 1994 and mother Goose pantomime Dame shoe worn by Clive Rowe in 2014.

The warhorse puppet, I took Gulliver and Erin to see the production couple of years ago, it was absolutely amazing.

One of the entrances and the view of the café. This is probably my favourite Museum in London.

The excellence of every art must consist in the complete accomplishment of its purpose. This is written in gold letters above the entrance, it curves around and is held by various carved figures. Too small to read in this photo.

Max is going to Antarctica tomorrow, lots to organise!
