Snowdrops

Snowdrops for Candlemas . They were out in profusion at Stourhead today, where I met a friend from my teaching days at Frome . 

We did the ‘Behind the Scenes’ house tour which was fascinating- the servants quarters were shocking - washing in an open gutter near the roof . The history of the families who lived there was revealing .

Social media worked its magic and my walking poles have been handed in at Porlock Visitor Centre . They were spotted leant against the pay machine at the car park at Bossington and then subsequently found by a litter picker in the undergrowth on the walk to Hurlestone Point ! I was so pleased.
