Afternoon treat

Went to communion this morning and opened the shop for a short while before going to take Richard to his dental appointment! I am not at all fond of dentists and Richard wanted me to be there in the room while he had his tooth out! Fortunately I had the book with me! He was very brave but it was a big ordeal for him and he found it difficult to keep clamping the pad to stop the bleeding and let it create a clot in the space! The taxi was ordered and before it came the bleeding has started so we went back in the treatment room and he was given another pad to clamp! The taxi arrived just as we went into the room. It waited so we were back to his home very quickly!

The last time richard had a tooth out which was quite recently he had had quite a traumatic time as the tooth had broken and another dentist had to come in and cut the gum to remove the rest and stitch up the gum! This time the tooth broke off at the roots and two pieces of the root were left in the gum! They took an X-ray and explained that it was not a problem and the roots would either make their way out or would just settle down in the gum! They didn’t want to give Richard another awful experience thankfully. Hopefully it will all settle down olin a the next few days!

Having walked home I decided to go for a cappuccino in the yard and have a gentle read before choir practice! A lovely end to the day!
