Getting ready

I came across these old shears while I was putting the bikes away in the shed, and thought they deserved a quick clean down and oil before they get used in Spring. They originally belonged to my great grandmother, and must have been bought between 1947 and 1962 when the company merged with another and changed name slightly. They're still excellent, if less than shiny bright.

Did some cycling, and some tidying and pruning with the gardening club in the school playground this morning. A bit more tidying and cooking this evening and we are set for the weekend!
